A great day in Sarnia!

Sarnia is my original hometown and it was encouraging to be back there on Saturday with women, men, and teen girls for a great day of "Just the Word", a partnership of Women Alive and Precept Ministries.

Topics included:
Nehemiah with Margaret Gibb
Women of Worth with Ruth Coghill
James with Jennifer Petersen
Truth for Youth with Michelle Nagle

If you attended 'Just the Word', we would love to hear how you were impacted and what God spoke to your heart during our time in His Word, the Bible.

You can post your comments here or email us at info@womenalive.org.

Talk to you soon!

Did you see Wendy Pauls on the Love Dare?

Did you see Wendy Pauls and her husband, Kevin on 100 Huntley Street's "The Love Dare", leading up to Valentine's Day? This book was inspired by the film, Fireproof and gives couples a different challenge or 'dare' each day.

The Pauls' and two other couples share their experiences on this 40 day journey. You can check it out at www.100huntley.com.

Have you done the Love Dare with your spouse?

Jesus by Candlelight

I turned off the lights, lit some scented candles, cued itunes to shuffle mode, piled blankets and pillows on the floor, and sat down with my Bible and journal for a date night with Jesus.

It was simple and beautiful.

I came thankful -- for specific answers to prayer, for seeing God use simple gestures to work in someone's life, for confidence that He is leading, for friends that make me laugh and feel loved, for dreams that are taking flight.

Before I knew it, it was midnight.

Acts 3:19 says, "Times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord." and Psalm 46:10 reminds us to "Be still and know that I am God."

Have you rested in His presence lately? Take time, wherever you are, to be still and thank Him that He is God and He is in control.

Hugs,

Michelle

Who you gonna call?

Who's the first person you call when crisit hits? Your mom, your best friend, your husband or boyfriend?

What if the first person you turned to was...God? What if, before lifting the phone or sending a text, you stopped and prayed first?

God doesn't want to be an afterthought once we've exhausted all of our other resources. He wants us to come to Him, our Father, first. I've found that when I seek Him first, it causes me to trust in Him more, to find comfort in Him more, and to be thankful for those He has placed in my life who I can turn to next if necessary - remembering that they are a blessing but only human. :)

I challenge you to make God your 'go-to' man for the next 30 days. Talk to Him first, cry it out to Him first, celebrate with Him first...then step back and watch Him work!

Turning to Jesus with you,

Michelle
